Peter Kay's 2010 show: The Tour That Doesn't Tour, will now er, tour across the UK, as extra dates were added to major cities like London, Birmingham and Glasgow yesterday.
After a lengthy seven year hiatus to concentrate on fatherhood, the Phoenix Nights star recently decided to go back to doing what he loves best, albeit in Manchester only. Speaking ahead of his 22 date run at the MEN Arena next year, Kay said: "Writing my book recently made me realise just how much I used to love and have missed performing stand-up. I'm delighted to be performing at the magnificent M.E.N Arena, it feels like home to me."
Tickets sold out within the hour and some were immediately put on e-bay for up to £250 a pair. The Bolton comic then released this statement on his website yesterday: "Thanks to overwhelming demand, The Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour is going to have to go on tour, even if it's just to try to dilute the ticket prices that some people are charging on e-bay."
Now spanning 2010 and 2011, the 44 date tour comes to London's O2 Arena for three dates in November, 2010. Tickets go on sale at 11am this Friday, December 4. Visit: www.theo2.co.uk or call 0844 856 0202.
