Trip-hop heroes Portishead are showing their support for human rights by releasing their new single on Amnesty International's very own record label. The single, named 'Chase The Tear', is available as an exclusive download single from 7 digital with all earnings going towards Amnesty's human rights work.

The single was first premiered on the Zane Lowe radio show on 9th December, the eve of the international human rights day, which aims to raise awareness of human rights violations around the world, and to persuade people to join the organisation on putting pressure on international bodies to put an end to these practices.

This is not the first time the Bristol group have lent their support for a worthy cause. In 2007, the band appeared live for the first time in seven years at the 2005 Tsunami Benefit Concert, which aimed to raise finds the victims of the Boxing Day disaster of 2004.
