Iconic 90's rock band The Smashing Pumpkins have announced that they will release their next album 'Teargarden By Kaleidyscope' for free. The 44 song album will be released on the internet, a track at a time, with the first song due out around Halloween.

'There will be no strings attached' says frontman Billy Corgan. 'Free will mean free, which means you won't have to sign up for anything, give an email address, or jump through a hoop.. You will be able to go and take the song or songs as you wish, as many times as you wish.'

There will also be 11 four track limited edition EPs for sale - more like mini boxsets - targetting fans who are interested in the album artwork as well as the music.

The album is based on 'The Fool's Journey' as seen in tarot cards and, according to Corgan, will be a return to the 'original, psychedelic roots of the Smashing Pumkins: atmospheric, melodic, heavy and pretty'.
