When it comes to installation art, bonus points are definitely given for edible elements. An artistically piled assortment of brilliantly coloured sweets? Bring it on. An exotic fruit tower, precariously placed pineapples, starfruit and pomegranates galore? Sign us up. But when Courvoisier and Bompas and Parr joined forces to produce the Courvoisier Architectural Punch Bowl Experience, we couldn’t have in our wildest dreams imagined the delicious and downright decadent resulting event they have created together.
For legendary cognac producer Courvoisier has teamed up with the edible architectural wizards at Bompas and Parr to create the world's largest cocktail in the world’s largest punch bowl. Housed in the historic 33 Portland Place, the Architectural Punch Bowl will contain over 4,000 litres of a brand new cocktail featuring Courvoisier’s exclusive mixing cognac Exclusif. And it’s large enough to row a boat across!
Courvoisier’s Architectural Punch Bowl takes the art of mixology to epic proportions and this December over 25,000 servings will be on offer to the public over three days. Londoners are invited to sample a delicious new punch and marvel at this feat of innovative design for only £6.50 per ticket – but hurry, entry spots to this unique experience are already filling fast.
Courvoisier launched a nationwide competition to determine the cocktail that will fill the Architectural Punch Bowl, inviting professional mixologists, cognac fans and members of the public to submit a recipe to the expert panel.
The winning cocktail, the Emperor’s Shrub, features berry shrub (a combination of seasonal berries, sugar, cider vinegar and spices), cranberry and pomegranate juice and of course Courvoisier Exclusif. Created by Joe McCanta, it is a tribute to the popular alcoholic beverages of old – the shrub, which was popular in the 1700s.
Best of all, this grown-up Willy Wonka-like event is for a good cause, with proceeds from the event going to architectural charity Article 25 which is dedicated to providing building expertise to aid agencies, NGOs and communities wherever there is disaster, poverty or need. Now that’s something to raise a glass to.
Don't miss your chance to enjoy the perfect pre-Christmas treat and kick off the indulgent festive season in style. The Courvoisier Architectural Punch Bowl is open to the public from 8th - 10th December.
