Them Crooked Vultures support Arctic Monkeys in Brixton Tonight - Maybe?

What is with those Arctic Monkeys? They seem to be magnets for news at the moment. With the band only just falling off the music pages with the whole Oxfam/last minute gig in Brixton thing, they've only gone and invited new rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures to support them at tonight's London gigs (allegedly).

'Hang on!' we can hear you saying, 'who the hell are Them Crooked Vultures?' Only the biggest super-group since The Travelling Wilburys. Featuring Foo Fighter Dave Grohl on drums, Queen of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme on guitar and Led Zep’s John Paul Jones on bass, they've been wowing crowds with a slew of secret shows all over the world, and yeah, they're amazing as they sound. Here's a short video of them rocking out in Chicago earlier this month:

However, we must stress that it's only a strong rumour that they might be playing at the O2 Academy tonight. Josh Homme has produced most of the Arctic Monkey’s new album ‘Humbug’ and Them Crooked Vultures have already made surprised appearances at Lowlands in Holland and Pukkelpop in Belgium over the past week so it seems quite likely (if we were betting people, we’d probably be tempted to head down the nearest Ladbrokes), but we could be wrong, and this all could be the result of the over-active imagination of the hype-machine. You’ll just have to go to Brixton and find out!
