Things to do between Christmas and New Year

Things to do between Christmas and New Year

Stuck for things to do after Christmas but before New Year? Here are our picks of what's on in London.

In that inevitably awkward and boring period between Christmas and New Year, you can sleep in late and eat cold meat sandwiches all day long, so that's the daylight hours taken care of. But  if the evenings leave you a slave to your Radio Times, there is hope beyond the wall of kids TV and discarded wrapping paper.

26th
Rinse FM @ Fabric
A boxing day institution, Boxing Day at Fabric is the holiday period's saving grace. DJs this year include Oneman, P Money, Marcus Nasty, Brackles, Raf Daddy (2 Bears) and more.

27th
Hip Hop Karaoke @ The Social West End
Thank God they're not putting this weekly night on hold for the holidays. Essentially some of the best put-down comedy in London, Hip Hop Karaoke is as gloriously bad as it sounds until some fly bastard gets up and shows everyone how it's done.

28th
Astronomy Photographer of The Year @ Royal Observatory, Greenwich
This isn't as boring as its title would have you believe. Stunning photography and a walk around Greenwich Park is a Londoner's way of pretending to be in the country for a few hours. You can then jump on a warm tube fairly quickly.

29th
Fuerzabruta @ The Roundhouse
Possibly the best way to wave off Christmas and ring in the New Year is this massive theatre show/club night. The words full on don't even begin to describe what goes down at Fuerzabruta. On Now until 22nd January.

30th
Ivy Paige's Scandalous! @ Leicester Square Theatre
Lounge cabaret gets a serious boost from Ivy Paige and her guests. Lots of bawdy ladies, striptease and performance, this is quite a chilled, funny way to fend off NYE madness for a few hours.
