X-Factor Winner to Take On Journey's 'Dont Stop Believing'

If the rumours are to be believed then Simon Cowell is an evil genius – either that or he's losing it. After having his minions butcher Cohen's 'Hallelujah' last year, the pop mogul is setting his sights on Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' to be the song this year's X Factor winner performs.

Although a massive hit in the US, the song only reached a whopping 62 in the UK, but has achieved cult status partly through its use in the last episode of The Sopranos, but mostly because it's the cheesiest song ever.

Cowell's version will no doubt snip off the tiny balls this song has left (i.e. the incredible tap solo at the start) and will turn what is the ultimate coke jam ever into the sort of music they play over an emotional bit in The Hills. If you would like to know what that sounds like, just check out Mariah Carey's soulless rendition of Foreigner's 'I Wanna Know What Love Is'.

I for one hope this abomination never sees the light of day. After all if you take out the rock from mall rock, all you're left with is mall, and you know what sort of people like shopping at malls right?
