2010 marks the 116th year of the Proms and promises two Last Nights, and a host of international performers.
Tickets for BBC Proms 2010, the world's largest classical music festival, go on sale today. Concerts take place at Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal College of Music and Hyde Park between 12th July and 11th September.
Proms in the Park events include The Last Night Magic, a live open-air concert featuring the most high profile of the line-up and a BBC Big Screen link-up to the Royal Albert Hall with more events to be announced. The 'last night' performances come around twice this year with the classic Proms park concert on September 11th and a stunning recreation of the Last Night of the Proms 1910 on September 5th.
Highlights of this year's festival include performances from Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Plácido Domingo in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra and, um, Jamie Cullum. There are over 1000 standing places at each prom, with tickets available from as low as £5. Tickets can be booked online, by telephone or in person at Royal Albert Hall Box Office.
