Spike Jonze's new film to play in car parks across the UK - “In an Absolut world, ordinary is no place to be”.
Following the collaboration between Absolut Vodka and Spike Jonze in January, the 30 minute film 'I'm Here', a robot love story, is set to play in car-parks around the country before its commercial release in March.
Director of the recent film adaptation of the classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are, Jonze has been given complete artistic freedom and we hear the shape of the bottle only makes it into the film once. This is Absolut showing its support for creative arts as it has done previously by commissioning arts galleries and fashion initiatives.
Though it's not an extended advert that yells “Vodka!” it does have a hell of a tagline: “In an Absolut world, ordinary is no place to be”. Set in a futuristic LA where humans and robots live and love side by side, I'm Here follows a lonely librarian robot living a methodical life devoid of passion and creativity until he meets a free-spirited female robot. To exemplify that “ordinary is no place to be” and that life can indeed be transformed by passion, the film will be screened in car-parks around the country.
Film-goers will be invited to enjoy Absolut drinks during the preview screening and afterwards at nearby participating bars.
Access to the preview screenings is limited. For further information on screening locations, listings information and for the chance to attend please visit: www.absolut.co.uk/imhere
