James McAvoy returns to the West End in a Shakespearean tragedy.

Get ready to scrape the last of your pre-Christmas savings with the news that James McAvoy is will play Macbeth in a production directed by Jamie Lloyd at Trafalgar Studios in February. The predictably pricey tickets are on sale already and the show will run from 9th February until 27th April.
McAvoy hasn't been on stage since the well-regarded but not exactly heart-stopping Three Days of Rain in which he starred alongside Nigel Harman. The incredibly talented director Jamie Lloyd is an Olivier Award-winning hot shot who's been to Broadway and back with a string of well-deserved successes. He is teaming up once more with the always excellent designer Soutra Gilmour to create a dystopian Scotland ready to descend into murder and bloodshed at the hands of the manipulative and the power-hungry in this Shakespeare classic.
Have we forgiven him Wanted? I think we'll have to. (At least he gets to use his own accent in this one.)
A note on tickets: All tickets will be £15 on Mondays. Half will be released monthly to the public on the first day of each month, starting on 1 February 2013, and will be available online or at Trafalgar Studios box office. Additionally, day seats will be available at £10 for all performances, Tuesday through Saturday.
