The national treasure leaves fans sorely disppointed after a poor performance at Lonson's O2 Arena

Fans were left demanding their money back after Julie Andrews left much of her long-awaited concert at O2 Arena to her backing singers.

Reports have estimated that in the duration of the two hour concert Andrews sung for a grand total of twenty minutes. Angered fans, some of whom paid over £100 for tickets, began leaving the show after the first half hour and later when her rendition of 'Getting To Know You' proved mostly conversational. The second half of the concert featured a further disappointing reading from the children's book she has written with her daughter.

Marking thirty years since she last appeared on stage, Andrews was to offer the "gift of music old and new" according to organisers AEG. Unsurprisingly, their review was at odds with the panning from fans and critics alike. They stated: "The show started and finished with a standing ovation. That speaks for itself." Though some have argued many who stood were not applauding but rather making their exit.

Regarded by many as a national treasure, the 74 year-old Andrews has been performing for over six decades and has starred in the timeless classics Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and more recently, the less timeless, more senseless Princess Diaries also staring Anne Hathaway.
