The winners of The Offies 2012 are announced in a ceremony at Theatre Royal Stratford East, presented by Louise Jameson.
So now the year really begins. With the winners of The Off West End Theatre Awards 2012 announced this evening, London's fringe scene knows where the ever-rising bar is set. The Landor and Finborough Theatre led the way in an award ceremony that handed out accolades to a refreshingly varied list of actors, directors, productions and venues. The night's festivities were presented by Louise Jameson in place of Simon Callow who presented last year.
In a casually glam ceremony in the shadow of indomitable theatre director, the late Joan Littlewood, Offwestend.com founder Sofie Mason and her right hand woman Diana Jarvis kicked off the awards which are designed to recognise the best talent on the fringe so often forgotten by the media spotlight that usually falls on the West End.
