More tickets available to see Ecstasy by Mike Leigh.

Phew! After it sold out before even opening at Hampstead Theatre, Ecstasy by Mike Leigh will transfer to Duchess Theatre in London's West End. There are now fifty more performances for you to get tickets to. The show kicks off in the West End on 12th April and will come to a close on 8th May.

This is the third play from Hampstead Theatre to transfer to the West End since February 2010 when Edward Hall took over as Artistic Director. Hall has spoken of giving Leigh's work a wider platform and said “We have been unable to cope with demand for tickets at Hampstead so this transfer is doubly important both for the theatre and for the audience for Mike’s work. ”

Ecstasy is set in a Kilburn bedsit in 1979. As Maggie Thatcher ushers in almighty transformation to this country, a group of friends gather for a laugh and a drink on a Friday night. Of Ecstasy, Leigh said: “Of my own plays, Ecstasy is my favourite. For years I have wanted to share its passion, its comedy, its sadness and its songs with a new, wider audience, and now, with my wonderful young cast, I am delighted to have the opportunity to do so.”

Ecstasy will run from 12th April to 28th May at Duchess Theatre
