A musical based on the 1992 film The Bodyguard starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner will arrive at London's Adelphi Theatre in November.

We smell a cash-in, but we're probably wrong. The musical version of the Whitney Houston film The Bodyguard has been in the works since last year, long before her death on 11th February 2012. The musical will play at London's Adelphi Theatre in the West End from November.

The 1992 film The Bodyguard follows the relationship between singer Rachel Marron (Houston) and her bodyguard Frank (Kevin Costner) as they overcome their first impressions of each other to find a nice balance of vulnerability, protection and music as they sing songs and  save lives respectively.

Multi-award winning singer/actress Heather Headley, will play the role of Marron under the direction of Thea Sharrock who makes a fluffy departure from her usual choice of modern classics and new writing.

Sorry we've left it to the end but just to confirm, the musical which has been penned by playwright Alex Dinelaris will feature, in all its warbling glory, Houston's hit I Will Always Love You.
