The shortlist results for the 30th Edinburgh Comedy Awards are announced.

The nominees for this year's Foster's Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Awards have been announced today.
Comics including American YouTube sensation Bo Burnham, We Are Klang member Greg Davies, now triple nominee Russell Kane and top funny ladies Josie Long and Sarah Millican are in the running for the top prize of 'Best Comedy Show'; while Gareth Richards, Roisin Conaty and Imran Yusuf contend for the 'Best Newcomer' award.
Nica Burns, producer of the Edinburgh Comedy Awards said:
"These are two fantastic 30th anniversary shortlists which reflect the enormous changes in the comedy landscape. For the first time two first class female comics, Josie Long and Sarah Millican, both Best Newcomer winners join 20-year-old Bo Burnham in an outstanding Edinburgh debut, Greg Davies from We Are Klang in his first solo show and Russell Kane winning his third consecutive nomination. It took a very impassioned, intense debate to select the nominees from an extremely strong and diverse long list. 2010 will be remembered as a vintage year for comedy."
There are three prizes awarded – ‘Best Newcomer’ for a performer or act staging their first full-length show; the ‘panel prize’, for the act or show that most captures the spirit of the Fringe, and the most coveted title of all – 'Best Comedy Show’, given to the most outstanding and original show.
The winner of the main award, which will be announced on Saturday at a lunchtime ceremony at the Famous Spiegeltent, will win a £10,000 prize and an invite to appear at international comedy festivals in Montreal, Toronto and Chicago, while the Best Newcomer and panel prize winner will receive a cheque for £5000.
