Need some help planning your Comedy Crawl? Check out our guide to this year's immense line-up.

Yes, the two-day, May Day musical pageant that is the Camden Crawl takes place this weekend and it's looking pretty bloody awesome, Sugababes aside. But who to see? Where to go? Is it worth trying to get into the Roundhouse this year?

It's easy to forget all the non-musical daytime entertainment at the Crawl but there's plenty of cool, more chilled out stuff to check out from Poejazzi's spoken-word showcase to arts and crafts with the HungaMunga crew.

Perhaps most exciting of all is this year's comedy bill, which is bigger than ever with some wicked line-ups courtesy of Underbelly, The Fix and The Camden Fringe. We're going to be running between venues like headless chickens to try and cram in as much laughter as possible but a bit of forward-planning wouldn't go amiss. Having spoken to some of the organisers and acts involved, we've put together our own comedy guide to the Camden Crawl to help you plan your itinerary.

Sunday's gig features cult favourite Simon Munnery, freewheeling nut Phil Kay, documentary-maker Lee Kern, Viz creator Simon Donald and many more.

Saturday sketch performers Delete the Banjax told us:

"We're really looking forward to the Crawl. As well as all the top comedy at The Fix shows we'll be dancing like tits to Shy Child and New Young Pony Club. We're currently putting together our Edinburgh Fringe 2010 show so people coming to see us can expect some new material alongside some of our old favourites, with silly songs and subtly surreal sketches."

Robin Ince
Isabel Fay

Held every August, the Camden Fringe is like a mini version of the Edinburgh Fringe spread across several venues in the area for a whole month. Showcasing new and established acts from the worlds of theatre, comedy, dance, poetry and everything weird and wonderful in between, it grows in size and popularity every year. Stalwarts of the Camden arts scene, it makes sense for these guys to be involved with the Crawl.

The showcases will last from 1-6pm and are hosted by Adrian Poynton and David Morgan. There will be stand-up from Tom Price, Steve Hall and Robin Ince; character comedy from Isabel Fay, Gerry Howell and Leisa Rea; puppets from Suitcase Circus and mind-bending from S1L3NC3, Peter Antoniou and David Igo.

Michelle Flower, co-producer of the Camden Fringe said:

"We've put together a mix of comedy, magic and mentalism as we wanted it to be a bit more cabaret and different to the other comedy stages. it should also give a good flavour of the sort of acts that will be appearing at the Camden Fringe this year, or have appeared in the past."

Underbelly @ Abbey Tavern

Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd May
1pm-5pm

Rufus Hound
Brendon Burns
Jack Whitehall
Robin Ince

The team behind Edinburgh Festival's iconic upside-down cow have a cracking two-day party planned in the Abbey Tavern with award-winners, TV comics and tipped newcomers on the bill. Some of the circuit's best stand-ups will be on the stage including Argumental's Rufus Hound, if.comedy winner Brendon Burns, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Jack Whitehall and Musical Comedy Award winners Abandoman to name but a few.

Martyne Green, co-producer said:

"The Underbelly stage was a great success last year and I think it really adds to the flavour of Camden Crawl as a whole. This year we have it all - award winners, TV personalities and circuit regulars on the inside stage, including Rufus Hound, Brendon Burns, Abandoman, Robin Ince and a whole bunch of newbies trying the trade in the beer garden."

Tickets can be bought online here and exchanged for wristbands, which allows free entry to each of the participating venues with the exception of The Roundhouse.
