Sanderson Jones aims to meet all the people who will attend his new show by selling them their tickets himself.

If you go to a lot of stand-up shows, chances are you may have happened across the odd gig where the comedian performing has known almost everyone in the audience personally. They often prove to be very funny shows that have a nice individual touch.
However, these are usually gigs with about twenty or thirty people in the crowd. Comedian Sanderson Jones on the other hand is aiming to go the next step and fill the entire 500 seat Union Chapel with people he has met, had a conversation with, and can customise a show towards.
How could such a feat be accomplished you cry? Well, there are some very strict rules as to how tickets can be sold. There are no online, venue or phone sales; the only way of attending the show is by purchasing a ticket from the delectable Mr Jones himself, in person. Thus, he has been hitting the streets of London, trying to root out as many potential punters as possible. You can also book your seat by arranging a meet-up with Jones via an email or Twitter.
The oddball stand-up is no stranger to this sort of process, having flogged most of the tickets to his Edinburgh fringe show of last year by stopping people in the streets. This is where he got the idea for the Union Chapel gig from, and he will get some more practice in Edinburgh this year where once again he will be personally selling all of his own tickets.
So if you’re in the mood for a somewhat unique evening of stand-up comedy, some of which maybe aimed directly at you, either catch Sanderson Jones – ComedySale.com in Edinburgh this August or head down to Islington’s Union Chapel on October 14th. Don’t forget to meet up with him in person sometime beforehand though!

Sanderson Jones: ComedySale.com is on at Edinburgh's Just the Tonic at the Caves, August 4th-28th.
