TV network Dave’s Census of Humour reveals Kitson is king amongst comics.

Legendary stand-up and storyteller Daniel Kitson has been named the comedian's favourite comedian by TV network Dave. The Perrier Award-winning stand-up was voted by 24% of UK-based comedians as their favourite performer in a survey conducted by the comedy network. Of course, we’re not surprised, as we found the same outcome in our Comedian's Comedian poll back in 2008.
However Dave’s Census of Humour, has revealed some interesting titbits. For instance, Liverpool was voted the toughest town to perform stand-up in (apparently Scouse audiences aren’t as laid back as us lovely London folk); half of the comedians surveyed have had their material stolen; and nearly a third admit to suffering stage fright before a gig (we’d be scared too if someone was stealing all our material).
Dave’s research was compiled from one-to-one interviews with over a hundred UK-based comedians including Bill Bailey, Jo Brand, Dave Gorman, and Jason Byrne.
