The hyperactive stand-up sells £7 million worth of tour tickets on the first day of sale.

Popular stand-up Lee Evans has sold a whopping £7million worth of tickets to his new 2011 stand-up tour Roadrunner in one day. Tickets for the tour went on sale on Friday at 9am and by 6pm, 227,424 had been sold, at £30 each.
Evans' promoters Off The Kerb say he has broken box office records, with the biggest first day sale of a British comedy tour yet.
The 50-date tour traverses the length and breadth of the UK, and takes in two London super-venues including the O2 and Wembley Arena.
