The stand-up star files court papers over misuse of his image.

Stand-up star Lee Evans is suing comedy chain Jongleurs for using pictures of him without his consent.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Evans' lawyers have filed papers in the High Court, seeking damages of £50,000 for copyright infringement, after the the waterfront complex in Bournemouth used billboards with his face on them to promote the club. He is also requesting an injunction be taken to to stop Jongleurs using any images of him for promotional purposes in the future.
Evans' lawyers state that he is a successful Hollywood actor and international celebrity who never intended to perform at the Jongleurs club or endorse any of their products. The images taken by photographer Ray Burmiston are therefore “particularly damaging” to his career and misleading to the public.
Tom Cowling, Evans' lawyer, said that the comedian regretted having to initiate legal action, but felt that there was no other alternative to resolve the matter.
