The ubiquitous comedian manages to notch up another hosting gig, this time courtesy of the Prince of Wales.

Just when you thought he couldn't possibly cram in any more guest spots, hosting gigs or other erstwhile public appearances, Michael McIntyre has now been confirmed as the presenter of this year's Royal Variety Performance.
The Comedy Roadshow star, who got his big break at the event in 2006 and performed there again in 2008, will be its youngest host ever. Naturally, he spoke of this latest of appearances with his trademark smiley exuberance.
"To host [the performance] is such an honour and I'm unbelievably excited", he said.
McIntyre also joked that the Queen's non-attendance during all three of the years he has appeared was perhaps not a coincidence.
"The Queen and Prince Charles alternate their attendance", he explained, "This year, as on both of my previous appearances, I will be performing for Prince Charles. I can't wait to entertain him for a third time, though it does seem obvious that the Queen is avoiding me!"
Perhaps old Lizzie's just suffering from a slight bout of McIntyre overexposure, courtesy of his recent appearances on the Channel 4 Comedy Gala, Top Gear, This Morning and the CBeebies' Bedtime Hour to name but a few, plus his DVDs and live tours breaking every record for every comedian everywhere in the history of time and the universe.
