The Aussie musical genius embarks on his biggest live show to date this December.
Brace yourselves girls and boys. Comedy rock god Tim Minchin has a new tour on the horizon. In his biggest live show to date, the talented Minch will be touring arenas across the country including London's O2 Arena, with a 55-piece orchestra. The comic announced on his website that the show will include "songs you know but not as you know them and there’ll be some new songs that are so new I ain’t writ em yet."
The tour will kick off at Birmingham's NIA on December 8th before moving on to Newcastle, Brighton, London, Cardiff, Manchester and Nottingham. Tickets are priced from £35 with the London gig prices starting at £40. To fans that expressed disappointment at the price of the gigs via Twitter, Minchin explained:
"I'm sorry and I love you, but this show involves a symphony orchestra who must be paid fairly and transported and fed and bedded. And still my show is half the price of many out there. My aim is to create something unique and outrageous and fun. If you wanna come, I bet you can find a way. If not, I do hope you'll come to my next show. (But this one's gonna be fuckin whack, dudes.)"
Having brodcast his first radio sitcom Strings on BBC Radio 2 in May, Minchin is currently writing music and lyrics for the RSC's new musical version of Roald Dahl's Matilda.
