The Welsh character comedienne's show generated the most buzz of all Fringe acts on the micro-blogging site.

She may have missed out on the Best Newcomer gong at the Eddie awards, but Welsh comedienne Cariad Lloyd's show was the most popular on that less critically endorsed, but arguably just as important forum - Twitter.

According to a report compiled by EdTwinge.com, Lloyd's Free Fringe Show, Lady Cariad's Characters, was rated the best of Edinburgh's myriad of comedy shows in terms of Twitter traffic, and the quantity of good reviews generated by users.

Out of 150 tweets, Lloyd managed to score a 95% positive reception. Brian Logan of the Guardian was just one critic who gave the show a rave, calling it "a compendium of well-defined and daft personalities, none of whom eclipses Lloyd herself."

Lloyd's show was closely followed by absurdist sketch group Casual Violence and popular Aussie musical comics the Axis of Awesome, and managed to beat out more established acts like Sarah Millican and Richard Herring, who were lower down in the top 10. Show Me the Funny winner Pat Monahan managed to edge into the number 10 spot, proving the program wasn't quite as sparsely watched as was reported in the media.
