Valentine's Day Comedy

by: Spoonfedcomedy

Still stuck on what to do for Valentine's Day? Why not check out some of these awesome comedy gigs...

Humphrey Ker is...Dymock Watson Nazi Smasher @ Soho Theatre
While a comedy show about World War II and Nazis might not sound that romantic, wouldn't you rather spend an hour laughing continuously with your other half than staring into each other's faces over a heart-shaped chocolate torte? Dymock Watson: Nazi Smasher! is Humphrey Ker's award-winning spoof about a WWII Nazi-destroyer, who was parachuted into Romania on a dangerous secret mission. Chock full of brilliant gags and Blackadderish characters, there's much to love about this award-winning show.

99 Club Leicester Square Valentine's Day Comedy @ Storm
This consistently good central comedy club have a special Valentine's edition on tonight, with some of our favourite comics including: the imaginative and hilarious James Acaster, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year winner 2010 Josh Widdicombe and Bill Hicks support act Nick Doody. The lovely Holly Walsh hosts.

Valentines Comedy Carnival @ Clapham Grand
Who better to feature in a Valentine's comedy gig than smooth-talking sex symbol and Bossa Nova singer Earl Okin? The Comedy Carnival special also features Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow star Kerry Godliman, triple Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Andrew Lawrence and a special guest comedian.

My Funny Valentine @ Theatre Royal Haymarket
Theatre Royal Haymarket have a special Valentine's line-up planned, with top comedian and panel show star Stephen K Amos, award-winning newcomer Joe Lycett, rising star Chris Martin and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year finalist Suzi Ruffell as your host.

The Pajama Men
@ Charing Cross Theatre
Combining sketches, character comedy, stand-up, improv and physical theatre, The Pajama Men are a mind-boggling spectacle that has to be seen. Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Shenoah Allen and Mark Chavez have had tremendous success with their act (part clowning and part actioned-packed story), which saw them nominated for a Perrier award in 2004.

Licensed Fools - with Marcel Lucont
@ The Garage
Ladies, if you're without a date this Valentines, then Licensed Fools is the gig for you. Swarthy French lothario Marcel Lucont headlines, supported by the surreal, Izzard-esque Gerry Howell and more...

Adam Riches: Bring Me the Head of Adam Riches
@ Soho Theatre
The top Edinburgh award-winning show of 2011, Bring Me the Head of Adam Riches is a jam-packed hour of well-organised chaos and larger-than-life characters. If your loved one doesn't like audience interaction, it might be one to avoid, but if getting involved in lizard races and indoor Swingball sounds like their cup of tea, they're going to love it!
