venue Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen
Tuesday, 03 November
Put simply, if you haven’t spent a night here you haven’t done Hoxton. Comprising of three separate bars, a restaurant and a gig venue, the Bar & Kitchen is a Hoxtonite’s place of worship.
It’s easy to see why. Strategically placed as a centrepiece in this popular town square the bar is bubbling 24/7 with continental lagers, cocktails and premium spirits on everyone’s lips (and sometimes clothes). The restaurant area serves fresh, honest grub and the back room has played host to the likes of Ting Tings, The Hives, Foals and Maximo Park of late. Not bad for a venue that has a capacity of 450.

venue Moustache Bar
Tuesday, 03 November
Tucked in between a kebab shop and a barber, this basement bar is a true gem. The walls are adorned with vintage film posters, Victorian portraits and contemporary art; all of which feature a moustache of course. Bowler hat chandeliers and dolls suspended over the bar give it a slightly camp edge and the outside terrace is ideal for smokers. There’s no draught beer or food on offer but the 4am license makes up for it. Kooky, kitsch and a lot of fun.
venue Ain't Nothing But Blues Bar
Tuesday, 03 November
Doing exactly what it says on the tin, this place ain't nothin' but a blues bar - and there ain't nothin' wrong with that. The walls are covered with pictures and posters of famous blues musicians, sheet music is stuck to the ceiling and live blues is played on a small stage in the corner every night of the week.
Beers and wine are kept well and not over-priced considering the Soho location. This is quite possibly the only dedicated blues bar outside of the US so well worth a visit, blues fan or otherwise.
