About Brick Lane
Brick lane may well be famous as the best place in London to find a curry house, but by and large none of the ones along the road itself are actually any good. What Brick Lane is good for is the hoard of galleries, bars and clubs as well as the famous Brick Lane market. A makeover during the 1990s has seen Brick Lane transformed from grubby old cobbled street to the default hang-out for trendies, bankers and tourists. It's still worth a look though.
These days, Brick Lane can boast one of the biggest collective of artists, musicians and fashionistas in London and you’re never short of things to do. The Brick Lane Market and nearby Spitalfields is a must for all bargain hunters and the Old Truman Brewery houses several hugely popular bars and clubs and numerous art exhibitions.
Nearby Shoreditch and Hoxton are equally attractive to party-goers with a plethora of bars and clubs on offer, but only Brick Lane has the cultural diversity we’ve come to expect from this popular London area.
