Electro Swing (or Swing Beat) is apparently the hot thing right now – and it certainly sets ofF Jasper Garvida's Autumn Winter 2010 catwalk show at London Fashion Week in some style. The music – by The Correspondents or Caravan Palace, I'm not quite sure – bounces along with exactly the same combination of 1920s glamour and contemporary gloss as the collection itself.

The collection is strongly influenced by the Art Deco movement. Oversized zips, sequins, and strong graphic patterns feature on backless dresses, bomber jackets and elegant outerwear. A simple palette of pine green, black, silver and ivory gives a sense of comething restrained but ultimately super-chic.

But this is still a bold collection: shoulders and hips are delicately emphatic and the tailoring is confident and structured. Textures are complex and cleverly contrasted – knitted shawl colllars, satins, luxurious wools, peach petal patterns, sequins and reflective mirror discs combine to great effect.

Stand out pieces include a satin bomber in pine green, silver and black with Art Deco geometry; a beautiful malachite-patterned dress with large wool roll-neck; and a divine crop-sleeved pine green coat with oversized gold buttons, worn with elbow-length black leather gloves.
