Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week to come. Tom Jeffreys selects his top three exhibitions.

From Thursday 15th September
NEW @ ROLLO Gallery
A double dose of my favourite contemporary painter this week: first up is some new paintings, on display as part of NEW at ROLLO Gallery in Fitzrovia. The concept of the show is a straightforward one, but likely to be intriguing, given the calibre of artists involved. The gallery are simply showing some new works by a selection of their artists, including Frank Bowling, Andrew Hollis, and, of course, Nadine Feinson [pictured].
From Thursday 15th September
Memento Mori @ Hoxton Art Gallery
Next up, and opening on the same day, is Memento Mori over at the Hoxton Art Gallery. The show's focal point is, bafflingly, a diamond formed out of an armadillo found run over in Texas. But there's also work on show across a whole range of media by five talented contemproary artists, including the likes of Kentaro Yamada, Beatrice Haines and the brilliant Nadine Feinson again, this time showing stunning work from 2004.
From Saturday 17th September
Degas and the Ballet @ Royal Academy
And then something a little different. Undoubtedly the highlight of the Royal Academy's 2011 programme is Degas and the Ballet, a major new exhibition focusing on the artist's fascination with contemporary dance. Dance came to be a key symbol for the modernists and to some extent Degas prefigured all this – the exhibition also argues that he was influenced by and involved with the key technological developments of the age: namely, photography and film.
