Every Monday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Tom Jeffreys selects his top three exhibitions.

From Thursday 3rd March
Fran Richardson @ Long & Ryle
A new series of atmospheric architectural charcoal drawings by Fran Richardson at Long and Ryle this spring. The works on show – almost Escher-esque but with the mathsy weirdness replaced by a sense of vague foreboding reminiscent of Turn of the Screw – are inspired by a 1579 book by the mystic St Teresa of Avila.
From Friday 11th March
Alexander Heaton @ The Residence
Alexander Heaton's paintings are imbued with a covert symbolism that'sat once brash, bonkers and ever so slightly wonderful. A series of new works are on show this March and April at the Residence gallery on Victoria Park Road.
From Saturday 12th March
Watteau and his Circle @ Wallace Collection
Two exhibitions exploring the influence of French Baroque artist, Antoine Watteau. The West Gallery sees a rehang of Watteau's most famous paintings, whilst the Exhibition Galleries feature works from the collection of Watteau's publisher, Jean de Jullienne, which included the likes of Rembrandt, Rubens, Greuze and Vernet.
