Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week to come. Tom Jeffreys selects his top three exhibitions.

Stuart Pearson Wright Keira Knightley

From Monday 9th January
Stuart Pearson Wright @ Riflemaker
Stuart Pearson Wright met Keira Knightley backstage at the Old Vic a few years back and managed to persuade her to take part in only his second film, Maze – which was shown in 2010 as part of the artist's solo show at Riflemaker. The two clearly bonded, as for his latest exhibition with the gallery, Pearson Wright has painted several portraits of the megastar actress. As ever, Pearson Wright's work explores the construction of identity in clever, nuanced fashion.

From Thursday 12th January
Quentin Blake @ Foundling Museum
The Foundling Museum kicks off its 2012 programme with an exhibition of recent work by the world's favourite illustrator, none other than Quentin Blake. The works on show are recent pieces commissioned by four hospitals in France and the UK and are displayed throughout the museum in order to explore the benefits that art can bring to medical institutions.

From Thursday 12th January
Survivor @ Barbican
Israeli-born choreographer and composer Hofesh Shechter teams up with one of the UK's most famous artists, Antony Gormley, for a new piece of performance that's hitting the Barbican for three days in January. Both share an appreciation of the human figure as well as an appreciation for epic, universal themes, so expect something powerful, strange and daring.
