Thursday sees the launch of London Fashion Week. Tom Jeffreys reports from the front row.

And today it all kicks off. Fashionistas from across the globe have descended upon our fair town as London Fashion Week gets under way in various venues across the capital. With the main catwalk shows and events taking place at Somerset House, it seems like the best place to head to first. Registration is suprisingly easy due to my Fast-Track pass – uh huh that's the way we roll at Spoonfed – so there's plenty of time to potter about observing the assembled crowds of bizarrely dressed folk.
Everybody seems to have dressed up in the hope of being stopped and snapped by one of the millions of street style photographers milling about. Of course when you're rocking tan tasselled loafers by Church's, grey woollen Prada flannels, a Blackwatch tartan quilted blazer and grey cashmere scarf by DAKS – yes, that would be me – you tend to get stopped quite a lot. It must be the Sartorialist pedigree....
Anyway, after posing for various shots and giving out interviews to God knows who, it's time to report on some catwalk action. First up is Jeff Garner's sustainable brand Prophetik and I only bloody get front row seats next to Hilary Alexander and some peeps from Vogue. Then it's on to award-winning designer Andrew Majtenyi's show just down the road, followed by after-parties galore...
