Oddball fun-times - Editor's Choice, Exhibititons

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week to come. Tom Jeffreys selects his top three exhibitions.

Wild Boy's ball

Friday 19th August
The Wild Boy's Ball @ Kensington Palace
The last in the series of summer-time late night openings at the Enchanted Palace. One-time palace resident Peter the Wild Boy (according to Wikipedia, a "mentally handicapped Hanoverian of unknown parentage") is throwing the party, and as you might imagine it's choc-a-bloc with madness and assorted oddball fun-times.

From Friday 19th August
A Quiet Geometry @ ROOM
Florence Woodfield curates an exhibition exploring the relationship between order and chaos at ROOM this summer. On show are works across a range of media by three very different contemporary artists: Conrad Frankel, Thomas Qualmann and Nicholas Hamilton. The focus is on quiet, nuanced thought.

From Saturday 20th August
Mind Sports Olympiad @ ULU
A week of 'mind sports' at ULU this August. We don't really know what defines a 'mind' sport, but it sure sounds intriguing. Pit your brain against the best across a whole myriad of activities – from chess and Monopoly to poker, backgammon, scrabble, cribbage and a load of other things I've never heard of (like Boku, London Lowball and Decamentathlon...)
