What to see during Frieze Week – Editor's Choice, Exhibitions
07 October, 2011
by: Tom Jeffreys
Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week to come. Tom Jeffreys selects his top three exhibitions.

From Tuesday 11th October
New Sensations / The Future Can Wait
Next week, as we all know, is Frieze Week, and that means not only one mega-fair but a host of smaller ones too. One of our favourites, The Future Can Wait, has this year teamed up with Channel 4 / Saatchi New Sensations to exhibit together in the basement of Victoria House in Bloomsbury. Billed as "London's biggest curated exhibition", this is should be really brilliant – painting in particular should be very strong.
From Thursday 13th October
Moving Image London
Another new addition for 2011 is Moving Image London – as the title suggests, a fair that focuses on contemporary video art and other artist-produced films. A carefully selected collection of international galleries are involved, with a particularly strong showing from America, where the fair was conceived by the guys behind Winkleman Gallery. All in all, a very welcome addition to a packed Frieze Week.
From Saturday 15th October
Sluice Art Fair
New for 2011 is Sluice Art Fair, an open and experimental new art fair aiming to offer up an alternative to the monolith that is Frieze. The focus is on not-for-profit artist-run spaces, although commercial galleries like George and Jorgen are also involved. Alongside SUNDAY and The Other Art Fair, Sluice suggests that perhaps there is still room for experimentation within the tired fair format.
