Tom Armstrong picks his top three coolest, quirkiest and downright awesomest events from the week ahead.

Street Pianos @ various locations
This is perfect for those instances, on a date or something, when you think to yourself “how cool would I be if I just broke into song right now?” Well not only can you do that, but you can also sit down at a handily positioned grand piano and serenade your lover while they swoon and passers by break out into synchronized dance. Thanks to UK artist Luke Jerram and the City of London festival, your dreams can now become a reality*

Hackney Vintage Kilo Sale @ Hackney Downs Studios
It's payday weekend for most of us, which means every pub, town hall, back room and laundry cupboard has got a vintage market on. This week I've picked the Hackney Vintage Kilo Sale. The kilo sales are simple – grab loads of clothes and pay for them according to how much they weigh. Fifteen quid gets you a kilo of stuff, which in my book is a good price whatever you're buying.
30th June - 7th July
Independent Booksellers Week @ various locations on Charing Cross Rd
With the all powerful internet controlling the literature market with its Amazons and its army of Kindles, you could be forgiven for thinking that the humble bookshop is on the slow road to extinction. Thankfully it looks like they're not going without a fight. Independent Book Sellers Week begins on Saturday, and where better to celebrate than London's home of literary retail and one of my favourite parts of town, Charing Cross Road.
As part of the week long event, many of the street's most famous occupants will be hosting a selection of readings, discussions and more. Get out and show your support.
