The disco loving party crew take over the Spoonfed decks.

“The biggest disco night London has ever seen” is the tagline for the monumental showcase of talent ready to drop at The Scala this Saturday for Ecstasy, Passion and Pain. Titans such as nu-disco pioneer Lindstrom and Brodinski sit alongside Mylo and French duo Aeroplane to deliver a quadruple shot of nu-disco straight to the babymaker. Providing the foundation for these almighty pillars however, is some of the finest underground talent on the scene, including Casino Times, Cosmonauts and The Boogie Cartel. Disco fans have been losing sleep over this one for weeks, and we asked Tom and Saul, one half of the disco foursome that is The Boogie Cartel, to compile a Spoonfed DJ playlist ahead of their appearance hosting a room at Saturday's event.

The first record you ever bought

Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance

Saul: My first piece of vinyl was a rather boisterous bass line remix of Neneh Cherry – Buffalo Stance which scares the hell out of me today.

A guilty pleasure

Beautiful South – Song For Whoever

Tom: I've probably got too many guilty pleasures to name. This one especially makes me want to go and sit in a pub somewhere up north and cry into my pint of bitter.

One you wish you'd written/produced

Alice Smith – Love Endeavour (Maurice Fulton mix)

Tom: This remix is a masterpiece. The way it builds it up over the first few minutes, it's so powerful and haunting. A beautiful piece of music.

Your favourite DJ memory

Masters at Work – To be in Love

Saul: Our roof terrace party last year. Looking out as the heavens opened mid set to see everyone still going for it in the rain. Then the down pour stopped and a huge rainbow shone down to to a sea of loved up faces with this playing. Priceless memories.

The last song you listened to

Quentin Harris – You Can't Have New York

Tom: Top class attitude house from one of the finest. You can see why his night was called 'Kiss My Black Ass'.

The Song you want played at your funeral

The Spinners – I’ll Be Around

Saul: Possibly one of the most beautiful records ever made.

A fond clubbing memory hearing someone else play

Gwen Guthrie – Peanut Butter

Tom: At Horse Meat Disco. Seeing those boys play and going to The Eagle was a huge turning point for me musically and in terms of how I saw clubbing. We owe a lot to them.

A song you've never heard out but wish you had

Metro Area – Caught up

Saul: A gorgeous slice of spaced out soul, perfect for a 7AM dance floor. I've always promised myself I’ll play it one day when the time’s right.

Ecstasy Passion & Pain - Saturday 25th Feb @ The Scala.
