Fashion, Egg Hunts, and Film - Editor's Choice, Lifestyle

Tom Armstrong picks his top three coolest, quirkiest and downright awesomest events from the week ahead.

From Tuesday 21st February
The Big Egg Hunt @ various locations

Imagine the film Independence Day, where aliens take over major world cities, except with pancakes and the ingredients of pancakes, such as eggs, instead of aliens. You've just (sort of but not really) imagined The Big Egg Hunt, which will see giant ceramic eggs appear covertly across London for 40 days and 40 nights. Your mission, Londoner, is to spot them. They have been designed by artists and designers including Vivienne Westwood and Henry Holland, all in aid of the Elephant Family and Action for Children charities. They'll be auctioned off at the end of the hunt before they can band together and take over the world.

23rd - 26th February
London Fashion Weekend @ Somerset House

Say hello to London's finest designer shopping event!
Within a matter of hours of the last model stepping off the catwalk, Somerset House is transformed into a weekend-long designer shopping heaven. Catwalk shows, make-up, sample sales, vintage, talks, DJs, food - how much fun can you have in one weekend?

24th - 26th February
Reel Islington Film Festival @ The Old Fire Station
This film festival with a local focus has one hell of a varied programme that includes Japanese animation from the '80s and Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator among the plethora of films submitted by directors working and living in Islington. The festival headliners include Battle of Orgreave by Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller who'll be about for a Q&A afterwards,  Leaving Baghdad by Koutaiba Al-Janabi and Ken Loach's the Wind That Shakes The Barley.
