Flea Markets, Vintage and Sci-Fi - Editor's Choice, Lifestyle

Tom Armstrong picks his top three coolest, quirkiest and downright awesomest events from the weekend ahead.

Friday 3rd February
Horror-Fi double bill season @ Genesis Cinema

Does your local Odeon multiplex give you back to back cult horror and sci-fi double features? Don't be silly of course is doesn't. Genesis Cinema in Mile End does though, and for only 8 quid a ticket - that won't even get you a bag of sweets in most big cinemas these days. This Friday's flicks are the David Bowie classic The Man Who Fell to Earth, and recent sci-fi hit Moon. Support independent cinemas!

Saturday 4th February
Brixton Flea Market @ Station Rd, Brixton

Brixton's Station Road becomes a bargain hunter's paradise this Saturday – something like a carboot sale without the cars. If you've got goods to sell there's no need to book a stall, you can just turn up on the day and start haggling over your old rubbish (it's not really rubbish of course, and look, it's hardly ever been worn!)

Saturday 4th February
Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair @ Old Spitalfields Market

It's the first weekend of the month, which means two things. Firstly, everyone's been paid and secondly, Judy is back at Spitalfields with lots of lovely vintage things for us to spend our money on! Happy days indeed. It's still the biggest and it's still probably the best – you can always rely on Judy.
