Tom Armstrong picks his top three coolest, quirkiest and downright awesomest events from the week ahead.

From Tuesday 1st May
Rooftop Film Club @ Various Locations

The Rooftop Film Club are back for the summer! As well as a full programme of cult favourites and romcoms at their usual spot atop the Queen of Hoxton, they're also showing weekly screenings at Netil House in Hackney and Kensington Roof Gardens. As usual, you must book in advance as they always, always sell out.

Friday 4th May
Dirty Shame @ Bethnal Green Working Men's Club

Get ready for a night of pure filth and trash at this John Waters themed evening at Bethnal Green Working Mens' Club. The pencil mousteched director is celebrated in all his filthy glory with games, live rock n roll, performance and general bad behaviour. If you've never heard of John Waters but think this might be a fun way to spend an evening, you're probably right, but best watch Pink Flamingos first.

From Friday 4th May
The Big British Shop @ Selfridges

To celebrate the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympics and all that jazz, Selfridges are hosting the 'Big British Bang' this spring. Although it may sound like a mass national orgy, it's actually a series of in-store events celebrating good old Blighty, including this pop-up shop which opens on Friday. Inside you'll find all sorts of patriotic goods, from limited edition Barbours to jars of Marmite. Spiffing.
