Tom Armstrong picks his top three coolest, quirkiest and downright awesomest events from the week ahead.

Saturday 4th August
Judy’s Olympic Vintage Fair @ Old Spitalfield's Market
Of all the tenuous Olympics tie-ins we get sent, some of them are actually worth going to. This is one of them: Judy’s at Spitalfields have got Olympic fever and are giving away gold medals for the best dressed shoppers at their fair. As well as the obvious sense of pride at your sartorial superiority, you’ll also get £200 worth of vouchers to spend! That’s got to be worth putting your glad rags on for??
Saturday 4th August
Paper Dress Vintage Olympics @ Paper Dress Vintage
Now this is the kind of Olympics I like. One with less sweating, spandex and McDonalds, and more vintage, shopping and dancing. Thank heavens for Paper Dress Vintage in Shoreditch, who’ll be hosting specially themed events throughout the games. Expect shopping, alcohol, art, burlesque and more, each with a dress code related to a different Olympics in history (our favourite being the utterly suave Rome ’60).
Sunday 5th August
International Beer Day @ The Queen of Hoxton
International Beer Day sounds like something we’d just make up as an excuse for a piss up, but we haven’t. Fortunately someone else has! So get down to The Book Club on Sunday to celebrate with lots of beer, games, and more beer. Sozzled.
