Introducing another rising star from the UK's bedroom academy.

We spoke a lot last year about the declining age of new house producers. After Disclosure leapt from the underground into Smash Hits we wondered if house will soon become like football, where record companies sign contracts with babies after an A&R man hears them bashing a xylophone from a passing car window.
After chatting to the fresh faced but supremely talented Network and Polkadot, this week we caught a few words with another teen prodigy on our radar, Happa. Last year Mary Ann Hobbs brought in the 15 year old for a guest mix on her show after hearing the dark, bass-infused techno the Leeds producer was putting on to Soundcloud. Support from Loefah soon followed, with the murky Boss finding its way onto the Swamp81 head's Rinse FM show.
We got the youngster to put together a playlist for us, which showcases a decent musical depth taking in everyone from James Brown to Brian Eno. It shouldn't come as a surprise, after all, you don't get on the line-up with Jimmy Edgar, Martyn and Mala from being a snotty nosed kid who doesn't know his arse from his elbow.
Last track you listened to
It was Gather by Peverelist; I was having myself a little dubstep listening session as it had been a while.
First track you bought
Well, the first album I bought was a James Brown Greatest Hits CD when I was about eight. He was my favourite artist for around five years straight. What a hero he was.
The track you wish you'd made
Oh god there are so many, but the one that comes to mind right now is 1/1 by Brian Eno. Or maybe Melancholia by William Basinski. Or Numb by Andy Stott. It goes on… and on.
A guilty pleasure
The Streets - Blinded By The Light (Nero Remix). It is actually such a tune but I always have this niggling feeling that I really shouldn't like it.
A track you've never heard played out but wish you had
Joyrex J5 (aka 4-LOM) - Caustic Window [Aphex Twin]. I don't know why I chose this, but thinking about it I really want to hear this on a big system, and I reckon it would go down pretty well on the dancefloor.
First track you play when the sun comes out
It would have to be Wait by Airhead, as it reminds me of summer last year, and because it's a beautiful piece of mellow, dreamy, vibey music. I love it so, so much.
Your entrance theme to your heavyweight title fight
LFO - LFO (The Leeds Warehouse Mix). Just because everyone would be like "OOHHH SHEEEIIIT!" when it comes on, plus I could get my groove on on my way down to the ring.
