The German DJ has released a new live mix, but with an interesting new twist.

It's a concept that has been threatening to happen for a while, but to the best of our knowledge this is the first time it's actually been done. Moguai (not to be confused with Mogwai) has released his latest compilation on Mau5trap, a 75-minute live mix, as a bundle that includes his Ableton files (loops, stems, etc). The upshot is that fans will be able to remix his tunes and use his Ableton loops to interact with his mix in a way never before seen in music; there's even a free copy of Ableton live included in the bundle.
This is what the man himself had to say about the concept:
“I want to inspire others and fuel their passion for music... Sharing my files from this live performance will help anyone who needs a jumpstart with learning new DJ software. For my peers, it’s an opportunity to take my files and add another layer of innovation.”
Sounds good to us. The package, 'Lyve from Beta', is available exclusively through Beatport. It's going to be interesting to see what the response to it is like. It's either going to be the future of music releases or it's going to fall by the wayside like just another MiniDisc.
