Editor's Choice - Clubbing

07 February, 2011

Every Monday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Tomas Olesen selects his top three club nights.

Friday 11th February
Rumpus Vol. 3
Posh raving doesn't come much better than this. 5 rooms of fun in the form of things like Balkan beats, calypso, electro-swing, and circus performance. Despite the unlikely sounding name of the venue (Ice Father Nation sounds to me like some kind of biker gang from Mad Max), this is a highly recommended antidote to mainstream clubbing without having to resort to a squat party full of dirty hippies.

Saturday 12th February

Deviation

What more do I really need to say about Deviation tonight other than the line-up. Mala, Floating Points, Ramadanman, and of course the man himself - Benji B. That selection of headliners represents some of the most interesting and forward thinking music in the UK today. Grab an advance ticket, this is going to be the definition of roadblock.

Saturday 12th February

Torture Garden Jealous Love Valentine's Ball
The legendary London fetish night, now two decades old, has to be the first choice for anyone seeking an alternative to the sickly sweetness of Valentine's day fun. A strict dress code (Adam Ant was once turned away for not being dressed up enough) keeps the riff-raff out and if it's good enough for the likes of Dita Von Teese and Masaumi Max then it probably does deserve the tag of "world's best fetish night".
