This Thursday sees hip hop heavyweights Swollen Members take to the stage at Cargo.

Swollen Members are the hip hop group that should technically be kings of the freaking world. Their first two albums are brilliant, they've toured with the likes of Gza, and they're officially affiliated with Rocksteady which makes them hip hop royalty in a sort of Duchess of Kent way. What happened? Where have they been? Well it seems to have had a lot to do with Mad Child's addiction to prescription opiates and being dropped by their management company over Mad Child's affiliation with the Hell's Angels.
No worries though, despite still loving the company of hairy men in leather, Mad Child is off the pills, new music is tumbling forth in the form of new album, 'Armed To The Teeth', and solo albums for Mad Child and Prevail. 2010 should see the release of another new album thanks in part to the recruiting of Tre Nyce who is credited with injecting new life into the group.
The show at Cargo will be a rare chance to catch up with rap's edgier, more tattoed, Canadian cousin as they perform new tracks and classic material all ably supported by the UK's own Stig of the Dump and Syntax.
